In the United States, millions of people support the second amendment with the ownership of guns. Guns affect American society with them being in the forefront of media. They are viewed in a negative aspect on the news due to crime and recent mass shootings. More gun control legislation is being demanded to appease negative gun views. On the contrary the Federal Government should abolish gun control laws for economic benefits due to the sale of guns, lower gun death rates, and support smart gun technology.
The abolishment of gun control would have a huge economic benefits to America. Gun control supporters want to destroy a $49.29 billion industry in our country (Dunham). Around 290,000 people work in the gun industry; these are citizen making an average of around $50,000 (Dunham). All the workers have the ability to support the economy as it grows. If gun control was legalized than the national unemployment average of 5% would increase, with the possibility of another economic recession (Dunham). The industry is also growing within the past two years another 21,000 new jobs were created (Dunham). With the rise in gun popularity, that number can steadily increase in following years.
