Dear Gatsby,
I appreciate your care for our friendship, I'm glad that what we have done means
something to you as it has to me. I also see that you haven't joined the rest of the flapper
aristocrats, it's good to know you're not at the shallow depths of their ignorant mentality.
Anyways, I hope that your worries isn't the reason why think that our lives are so troubled
all of the sudden. I know myself very well and I know that my life isn't twisted, and I
know you well enough to say that your life is not as troubled as you may think or seems.
Everybody else living this wealthy luxury of a life has done something worse than anything
you have done, used you for parties and drinking for one. One the other hand, the only
crime you've commited is falling in love. I have seen Tom and Daisy; unhappyly married
knowing their real truths about each other myself, and their marriage is a farse. I have
seen you and Daisy; fullfilling that longlost love you had for each other before war,
wondering why you lost it to begin with. You and I know Daisy for what she really is, not
for that superficial act to gain self-respect, you can make her truly happy again. As for

In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby many characters are not as they seem. The one character that intrigues me the most is James Gatsby. In the story Gatsby is always thought of as rich, confident, and very popular. However, when I paint a picture of him in my mind I see someone very different. In fact, I see the opposite of what everyone portrays him to be. I see someone who has very little confidence and who tries to fit in the best he can. There are several scenes in which this observation is very obvious to me. It is clear that Gatsby is not the man that everyone claims he is.

When the new president and CEO, Michael Eisner and Frank Wells, came onto the scene they set out to maximize the company’s assets by opening its famous movies up to the TV syndication market and video cassettes. With the classics easily accessible and available at a lower cost the company grew to greater heights. The success continued in 1988 when Disney movies hit new box office heights bringing in more than $100 million. Then between the years of 1989 to 1994 chart toppers like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and the Lion King launched the entertainment company to even greater heights. In the Great Gatsby, we are faced with two extremely wealthy men, a beautiful wife, and a mistress. Jay Gatsby, a very mysterious man, who is extremely wealthy and well known for his parties, is very interesting as well as spontaneous. Tom Buchanan, a man made wealthy by being a professional polo player as well as having a gracious inheritance, is very bitter and somewhat cynical. Daisy, a beautiful young lady and the wife of Tom, is very light hearted but is also in love with Gatsby, almost as much as she loves Tom’s money.
In The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald, dreams, goals, and ambitions have a way of enticing and enchanting the characters. A goal becomes more than a goal; it becomes something into which the characters submerge themselves and by which they define themselves. These dreams then set up impossible expectations which are detached from what can realistically be achieved. Gatsby dreams of love with Daisy, a dream which eventually consumes his life. It seduces him into giving himself up entirely for its attainment. Similarly, Tom's ambitions to control every aspect of his life end up consuming him. It might be considered this fundamental tendency of human dreams to seduce the dreamers into dedicating themselves completely to those dreams which constitute their dangerous nature.
In all of these pieces of literature, the behavioral norms that are considered appropriate for men and women are tested. In The Yellow Wallpaper, a wife is pushed to insanity, in A Doll’s House, a housewife goes against expectation, in The Great Gatsby, male dominance is pushed to the extreme. Gender roles dictate men and women’s lives. The concept that you must live up to society’s expectations controls men and women’s thoughts and actions, and it must come to an end. All these authors captured a vital lesson to be learned: Men and woman should be treated equally.
In the love triangle between Daisy Buchanan, Tom Buchanan and Jay Gatsby they are all relatively rich even though Gatsby is newly rich. Gatsby and Daisy were in love when they were young which means that there is history between them, when they get the chance to meet again they are still very much in love still. It takes Gatsby some time and many parties to finally come across Daisy, and once he does come across her he’s scared to talk to her. When Daisy and Gatsby get together they always meet up at Gatsby’s house, they never go out alone because people would most likely start rumors about there being an affair. As the affair is going on Tom catches the suspicion that Daisy’s cheating on him with Gatsby so he hires a private investigator find out more information about him. Gatsby isn’t really in love with the Daisy that he’s currently with; he’s in love with the memory of how she used to be which makes his expectations very high, almost impossible for Daisy to live up to. Gatsby is also really up front about the fact that he is having an affair with Daisy, he intends to make it clear to Tom that he “knows his wife” and that he does intend to take her from him. These are some things about the love affair between Gatsby and Daisy and the love triangle between Tom Buchanan, Daisy Buchanan and Jay Gatsby.

The United States is a country focused on bettering an opponent, but some people aren’t cut out for the constant competition. Those members of society seem to be left in the dust and expected to fend for themselves. Because of the pressures being placed on Americans, it is almost natural to constantly search for a sense of comfort and relaxation. A variety of coping methods have been published in books and articles by psychiatrists, but the audience in which they are written for is rapidly expanding to younger generations. People too often make the assumption that damaging amounts of stress do not surface until college and early adulthood, but studies over the past five years show that stress takes an overwhelming toll on high school students.

Physical abuse is defined as physical aggression directed at a child by an adult. It can involve kicking, striking, shoving, slapping, burning, bruising, pulling ears or hair, stabbing choking or shaking a child. Child neglect is when the responsible adult fails to provide adequately for various needs. These may include; physical, mental, educational, and medical. Out of all the possible forms of abuse, emotional abuse is the hardest to define. It could include; name-calling, ridicule and degradation, destruction of personal belongings, torture or destruction of a pet, excessive criticism, inappropriate or excessive demands, withholding information, and routine labeling and humiliation. Most abused and neglected children never come to the attention of government authorities. This is true for neglected and sexually abused children, who may have no signs of harm. At the onset of this book, the reader is introduced to the narrator, Nick Carraway, who relates the past happenings that construct the story of Jay Gatsby and Nick during the summer of 1922. After fighting in World War I, or the Great War as Nick called it, Nick left his prominent family in the West of America for the North where he intended to learn the bond business. Nick was originally supposed to share a house in West Egg near New York City with an associate of his, but the man backed out and so Nick lived with only a Finnish cook. Right next door, Gatsby lived in a glorious mansion with expansive gardens and a marble swimming pool, among other luxuries. Yet Nick did not even hear about Gatsby until he went to visit his distant family at East Egg next to West Egg.
Hi fellow classmates. When preparing for a career in social work there are considerations that need to be made. One of the considerations that brought me on my path to becoming a social worker is my passion for helping others and because of this have always sought out employment where I can promote social justice and the well-being of others. Our friendship has taught me that maintaining a relationship is difficult, but it can be accomplished. That I am a very trustworthy and dependable person. But I need to work on my communication skills because sometimes I don’t communicate effectively or I approach the situation by handling conflicts improperly.
