Graphic Design is a career where people create visual concepts manually or with the aid of computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or gratify consumers. They develop the overall layouts and production designs for advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate publications.
The courses required for a graphic design major vary. Some colleges and universities require a 4 year degree program that will provide students with technical and artistic skills needed in that field. Those courses may include typography, book design, drawing, advanced graphic design, computer assisted design, digital media, and photography. I believe that since I want to go into the advertising side of graphic design, I should work towards a minor in Studio Art. Along with a major in Graphic Design, a minor in Studio Art falls under the Bachelor of Fine Art degree. The Studio Art program is for students planning on pursuing a career in visual arts; it is more of a professionally-oriented program. Certain core courses are required in order to be accepted into this program: Introduction to Studio Art I, Introduction to Studio Art II, and Art History. Above all, acceptance into this program depends mainly on grade point average and seriousness of purpose. During my whole life and experience I have been interested in the Art, Creativity, and I have been traveling around Graphics Designing. When I go out to centres, supermarkets, the high streets around Kingston anywhere in London, Germany and other parts of Europe which I have seen. I have seen lots of Graphics designs in advertising, Billboards companies for example in electronical products or any type of product the graphics advertising companies running around the world, just because of that I was inspired in the graphics designing and I was influence by the subject.
