Paper 3 Narrative/Description
Thousands of high school students come together at Sunken Meadow Beach each year for our student cut day. The smell of water, the taste of the delicious food, and the view of the beautiful woman walking around as the sun reflects off of their skin all come together to make for a rememberable moment.Going to the beach was our break from school and to help us from relax from our schoolwork. Visiting Sunken Meadow was such an vibrant exprience for me as well as my other classmates. It was like we all gather in one spot just to get away from our problems and have a good time. The crisp air, good vibes, and the taste of great barbercue, there is no place like the beach, the beach was like our stress reliever also a place where we can go and just have a great time together.

I look into the cloudless, baby blue sky and see the perfection of life; in the distance, rumbling blue waves crashing into each other with such force as that of two sumo wrestlers pounding each other. The smell of the crisp wavy water gives me chills the second I hit the bridge on the way to the beach. Driving to the beach isnt the best feeling but once you past the first part of the bridge, the smell of blue salty water & the dry sand hits your nose. I smell the somewhat salty raw fish in the air. The smell of fresh grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken even corn was in the air. Smells of rich sand mixed with the water had a funky ora as your walking along the shore side. I will never forget those smells at Sunken Meadow Beach. My mind will always instantly be reminded of Sunken Meadow when I smell saltwater, hamburgers, abeautiful women around, smell of the nasty sand, even the fell of the mist as the waves crash onto shore. Those scents was one of many reasons why Sunken Meadow was a memorable
As I stood with my peachy pink toes in the gritty sand, I watched as the salty water rushed over my feet. The white waves covered my feet completely and I let them submerge deeper into the wet sand. Looking out toward the horizon, my chest rose as humid air filled my lungs to spread warmth throughout the rest of my body. Finally letting my thoughts come to a slow stop; I relaxed for the first time in a long time. “Don’t wait up for me!” My grandpa yelled from the top of overpass. We had established a tradition of body surfing where he had always held the number one spot as the winner, no matter who actually won the race. I dove head first into the water and headed out toward the sand bank to catch some waves. Tossing my clumpy hair over my shoulder, I continued to dig my toes deeper into the snug sand. Pieces of grains settled between my feet to complete my feeling of paradise.
We eventually make it to the beach and it was beautiful out! The first step onto the sand burns our feet and we all race to the water. The wind floats through our hair and the water splashes on our feet. Everybody sets up their chairs and plops down to just relax and look at the stunning ocean, when it starts raining cats and dogs.
As I walk towards the ocean with the sand warm beneath my feet, the waves lap at my ankles, seeming as if they want to pull me out to sea. The sun rises over the horizon, reflecting off the waves and shimmering like gold. The salt air smells tangy as it stings my nose with the smell I crave while I am away from the ocean. The Outer Banks in North Carolina has been my favorite place to go from my first memories. I look forward to going there every summer because there at the ocean I feel at home. It is a place where I can forget every stress in my life and be totally at peace. It is a place where my family can spend time together, not like at home where we all have activities and places to be. The Outer Banks is not a beach where the ocean is forgotten; there is no partying and no boardwalks, nothing but nature to fill your days there. The beach is not crowded to the point where it is hard to even walk to the beach ,and looking for shells is not even an option. This beach is a very peaceful and surreal place. The noises of people do not overwhelm you at this beach; all you can hear are the sea gulls and the waves.
Eastern Point Beach divides into four different parts: the beach, the park, the snack bar (concession stand), and the athletic areas. I began my observation at Eastern Point Beach by walking along the beach. As the sand seeped through my toes I reminisced on the fun times me and my family had here. My family and I would go to the beach almost every Wednesday because my parents did not have to work, and I always returned home as red as a lobster. I then turned my attention towards the many families laying on their beach towels; everyone appeared to be in peace and serenity. A couple of individuals had beach chairs, but the majority of individuals laid on beach towels. I stopped for a moment to take in the sun and to look at the unique sea shells
The beach is Miami’s biggest attraction. People come from all over the world to hear our seagulls cawing, smell the sea- salt filled air, and walk through the warm white sand. When other cities are zero below freezing, we are wearing bathing suits and riding jet skis. The best part of the beach is when the sun is setting and you see the sky turning different colors. Its amazing to set up a bonfire with a group of friends, listen to music, and just enjoy the laid back Miami
The sand was hot but felt very good. It was very hard to walk in the sand on my sandals,so I have to remove them. There were sea shells in the sand and I even stepping on a few which brought me tremendous pain. While walking the strip you could see how backed
The beach is one of the most popular vacation spots. At the beach, some of the most popular activities are reading and playing in the ocean. People enjoy reading on the beach because of the calmness and warmth. The atmosphere is usually calming because of the waves. People find the waves to be relaxing and the sound of the waves enables them to be more focused.
A new day has begun. Slowly ascending into the cold dark sky, the sun glows vibrantly with delight. The passionate colours fill the sky with warmth like the pink grapefruits, zesty lemons, citrus oranges and cherry red. The sea so subtle sparkles preciously as it strolls up against the shore. The crystal water that stretch out far into the horizon gets darker and deeper but stays very calm.
The dull light of the sun somehow manages to kindle my senses in a way I had never seen or felt before. Everything felt like it came to a standstill and the effect of the light made the scene look like one in a painting. The waves break gently into white foam on the black beach. The small crystals in the sand glimmer and twinkle brilliantly against the sunrays. The seagulls ride with the wind and the soft sand cushions my toes.
The trees swaying with the wind as if they were dancing. The sandy beach stretching far and wide across the vast lake. The little cabins sitting stiffly on the shore. The many little islands are tolerating the water around them. The smell of decaying fish stinging my nose.
Ever since Sunset Beach has been officially opened to the public, there has been a drastic increase of tourists present. Television programs concluded that at least a thousand people visit the beach everyday. Reasons for their stay are that they feel comfortable with the environment that surrounds the beach front, people who are at the beach are joyous and numerous activities to enjoy, and the fresh scent of the sparkly waters, make the visitors feel calm and pleasurable. So I decided to take a trip there.
The water was just as I had hoped: perfectly clear and warmer than I imagined. The sand was almost as white as paper. Being on that beach was a serene and cathartic experience. Even though we were in our room for a minimal time, I can still remember it today.
Right when I got there I saw that the beach was not that crowded, there could be a couple reasons for this, it was weekdays so most people might have been at work and it had been pretty gloomy. The few people that were in the water were mainly surfing and wearing full head to toe wetsuits because the water is very cold. Other than the surfers, there was a couple tourists that had just excitedly jumped into the freezing water in just a bathing suit possibly because they had never been in the ocean before. It is really interesting to watch people who are not from here take in, and experience the beach in a way the local people normally do not. Sitting on the sand were the families in full clothes. Although this was a little peculiar I did understand where there
My toes burrowed into the damp sand and I was relieved to realize that the water was warmer than I had expected. As I stood there and breathed in, deeply, the moist salty air, allowing my heart to fill with the vigor of the ocean and releasing the thoughts of the boy from my past with each exhale, a ball hit my feet and a man ran to get it as his friend yelled “you’re welcome!.” Were they trying to get my attention? I thought as I simply walked away avoiding eye contact with the man who collected the ball. I wandered along the water’s border allowing the water to cooly kiss my feet. the water hit my feet. I smiled as I looked at all of the young surfers attempting to catch the two foot waves. I amused myself by pondering what their future would look like and if I was witnessing the start of a surfing legend. I envied their potential, the years they would have to master their art to acquire their dreams, whatever they may be.
Have you ever visited a place so beautiful and serene that you couldn’t imagine a more stunning place? For me, it is the shimmering and flowing waters of the ocean. The way that the deep blue waters meet the gritty beige sand leaves me in such awe. The water is like a soft blanket, comforting and inviting. The unique wildlife and vegetation that exists on the beach is something I’ve never seen anywhere else. There is no place more beautiful and thrilling than the beach.
