The movie “Godfather” of 1972 directed by Francis Ford Coppola is an adaptation of Mario Puzo’s novel with the same title. The movie is widely known in the history of world cinema. Primary focus of the movie is on the Italian-American Mafia specifically Corleone Family. Vito Corleone is the founder of the Family.
Moreover, the movie “Godfather” depicts Corleone Family as one of the most powerful and successful among other organized crime Families. Its success is attributed to Don Vito Corleone. We are all taught to be polite and adjust to certain principles. This goes back to how we, as people, were raised. Some may have different norms that they follow and think it is the right thing, as others know it is wrong. As Cultural Transmission Theory states, people learn through socialization and observation of others. For instance, stealing is considered a crime, yet some people think it is approved because of the way they were raised or how they were influenced. On many occasions he gives advices to his close ones as well as he noticeably complies them. One of the most touching life lessons Vito said in the movie is “a man who doesn’t spend time with his family can never be a real men”. These powerful words Vito directed to his godson, Johnny Fontane, who came from California for Vito’s daughter’s wedding. Obviously, Vito significantly criticizes a man’s behavior for not getting involved in his children’s development. Don Corleone indicates that if family is not one’s priority he or she is not living virtuously.
