Global Warming… Two Words That Say it All
Written by Maya Jacobs
Sea level is rising due to rapidly melting glaciers, ice bergs, ice sheets, and much more. Global warming is not new to the table. It has been happening for quite some time but is quickly worsening. Sea levels are rising almost everywhere but research shows that England and Northern Europe are at risk for major sea level rise.
Our world is slowly melting. With all our experiments and launches in to the sky, we are destroying much more than the habitats of animals. More water means bigger waves, more water means higher water level. What about those cities that were built below sea level? The question I ask you is not what is happening to them but what will happen to them? Venice, Italy for example is a city built on water. Venice has no streets, only canals. If water level rises, Venice will flood. Rising sea level isn’t just affecting animals. It will soon enough affect cities and the …show more content…

Glaciers covered the earth and are still here today. 200 years in the future, these glaciers will be very small or gone. If these glaciers have lasted 21,000 plus years, why can they not last for another 200 years? With growing society and quickly advancing technology, new ideas and experiments will only get bigger and better. With the upsides of new discoveries comes the downside of polluting our atmosphere with gases that are not good for the environment. Unhealthy gases for the atmosphere are the reasons for global warming. Glaciers are very deep and very large. If every glacier in this world melted, sea level would be indescribably high. High sea level does not only bring the risk of destruction higher but it also increases the risk of injury. Sharks, whales, jelly fish, etc. are very dangerous creatures. Higher sea level will bring them closer to shore putting more people at risk of injury. Although this does not affect us majorly, people in the future need to be
