WILL DRINKING GATORADE BEFORE RUNNING
INCREASE THE SPEED OF A RUNNER?
Running is something not many people like doing because they run out of energy very quickly and end up giving up but running is a good way to healthier and stronger. Many questions have been asked about how to get a boost of energy to run longer distances and a bit faster. Many of the answers have lead down to energy drinks and electrolytes. Gatorade is a fruit-flavored drink especially for athletes, designed to supply the body with carbohydrates and to replace fluids and sodium lost during exercise (Gatorade Dictionary.com) and is a good example of one of the energy boosters that have been said but are also said to be a myth. What I will test is “Will drinking Gatorade increase the speed of a runner?”
When people are physically active you sweat but sweat isn’t just plain old water. It’s a form of saltwater. Gatorade can rehydrate just like water does but it also has a hundred-ten milligrams of sodium for every eight ounces per serving while water has none (The Effect of …show more content…

Glucose polymers are simply extended chains of glucose otherwise known as starch and cellulose (Glucose Polymers).Carbohydrates accompanied with fat are the two important factors to the body especially when it comes to exercising because they are both the human body’s “fuel” to have it be able to move. However too many carbohydrates aren’t healthy for the body either as it would mean too many calories and that could lead to many health risks such as diabetes.
