Frederick Barrett was born in Liverpool, England in 1884. He worked as a coal miner and a local pit collier. The rumors were that Barrett started working on boats and going to sea because his wife started being unfaithful to him. Before he started working as a fireman on the Titanic he worked on a ship called the New York and he lived in South Hampton. Mr. Barrett was a leading fireman on the Titanic. Boniface Wimmer is regarded as one of the greatest missionaries of the nineteenth century. His mission was to establish a Benedictine monastery abroad in the United States to help the thousands of Catholic Germans who fled from their homeland in search of a better life. “Today, there are over thirty Abbeys and monasteries that take their root from Archabbot Boniface Wimmer, O.S.B.” With the grace of God, Boniface Wimmer succeeded. He was considered to be a “man on a mission.” His tenacious attitude aided him in spreading the mission of the Benedictine Order across the Atlantic Ocean. The Benedictines were seen not only as missionaries, but also as teachers and priests. The strong sense of bonding and connection within the community was vital to the Benedictine Order then, as it still is today.

Charles Cullen was born on February 22, 1960, in West Orange, New Jersey. He was the youngest of eight siblings. His father worked as a bus driver, and died at age 58 when Cullen was only seven months old. Two of his siblings also died in adulthood. His mother was a stay at home mom who raised the eight children. Charles Cullen described his life as miserable, he attempted suicide at age nine by drinking chemicals he got out of a chemistry set, he attempted suicide a total of twenty times throughout his life. On December 6, 1977, when Cullen was 17 years old his mother died in a car accident, while his sister was behind the wheel. George Walton was one of three representatives from Georgia to sign the Declaration of Independence. The exact date of his birth is unknown but it is believed to be in the year 1749 in Prince Edward County Virginia. At a young age his parents died and he was adopted by and uncle who trained him to be a carpenter. In 1769 George moved to Savannah Georgia to pursue a legal career. He soon became one of the most successful lawyers in Georgia. He became increasingly active in the Georgia Revolutionary government and was elected to provincial congress in 1775. In 1776 he first served in the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia where he signed the Declaration of Independence.

\On March 25, 1911 the Triangle Shirtwaist factory located on the eighth, ninth, and tenth floors of the Asch building, in New York, caught fire. The owners of the Asch building were Max Blanck and Isaac Harris. The fire started on the eighth floor and was caused by a dropped cigarette. There were little precautions taken by the owners in case of a fire. There were only about twelve red pails of water in the building in case of a fire, one exit was locked, and one of the two elevators was out of order. The owners of the factory survived by escaping on to the roof and were able to get to the building next to theirs. It took about 30 minutes for firefighters to get the fire under control. Shine is considered a hero because he left the sinking ship Titanic and swam to shore in order to save his life from a forthcoming tragedy.
