Formation of Perceptions
Negative Perspectives
After a critical analysis on the data for the two main issue that the programme present, we now come to the negative perspective of episode 2 as a whole. There are superficial and artificial presentation and also formation of negative perception towards this two issue.

Firstly, for superficial representation, Tien has only been a cleaning worker for 2 days and live in the cage home for one night only, it is hard to convince us that he knew the feeling of being poor, and understand the underlying poverty problem. Moreover, the whole programme is more about the reflection and feeling of Tien, it doesn't show much real scene of the hard work of street workers to present to the audience, which cannot reflect the real problem of low income situation.

Secondly, there are also artificial presentation of the poverty phenomenon that will mislead the audience. As we mentioned before, Tien was given $50 per day for daily expenses, but actually it is not the real case. Assuming a cleaning workers work 22 days per month and they work for 9 hours per day, times the hourly wage of $25 before the implementation of minimum wage law, the monthly income will have a total of $4950. Since a monthly income of $4950 do not need to pay tax and contribute to MPF. After deducting living expense of a cage home of $1350 from $4950, they will have $3600 to spend for the rest of the month which means they can have $120 for daily expenses. Comparing $120 with $50 that Tien has got is such a big difference, indicating the programme is artificial and exaggerated about the poverty phenomenon.

...ich they required participants to utilize their professional background and knowledge to improve the poor’s living condition by workable plans after they have received much negative feedback. As audience, undeniably, we were inspired by the episode and had reflections. But since there is no concrete ways suggested for us to offer help, we only took a passive role. Overall speaking, the episode was just able to spot out some poverty issues but being unable to tackle the problems effectively.

Conclusion
To conclude, the episode expressed both positive and negative perceptions on the issues which together increased the public awareness on the issue of low income and high property prices by showing the daily life difficulties encountered by Tien as a street cleaner. Yet, there were no suggestions on how the public could help. As a result, the problems remain unsolved.
