As one looks around the world, one can see the many problems that lie around in the world. One problem that still lies around in the world is genocide. Genocide has been around for as long as one could trace back. Germany and Rwanda are one of the many countries that have had cases of genocide. In Germany, there had been the Holocaust, and in Rwanda, there had been a rivalry between two tribes. Like genocide, another major problem that still can be seen in the world is poverty. Currently, Algeria is one of many countries that deal with poverty because of its recent independence movement from France. In the rural areas, one can see a solution to this problem is to forge alliances with many rich countries so that constant trade can provide Algeria resources and money. Algeria had broken its chains from France in the year 1962 (Jones 11). Since its independence movement, there has been internal conflict, which also refers to how poverty deepened and the unemployment occurring in the rural areas of Algeria. (“Rural Poverty in…” 4). Throughout the years, Algeria slowly developed a state of poverty. Causes of poverty in Algeria is the recent independence movement from France, the constant drought, and lack of income (Jones 11; “Rural Poverty in…” 4). Since its independence movement, Algeria had been trying to address the problem publicly by sending Mourad Medelci to Britain in 2012. Mourad Medelci was the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Currently, he is not in office due to old age, but he had worked to help bring Algeria out of poverty (“Algerian FM Visits UK” 1; “Mourad Medelci on…” 1). Medelci visited the British parliament, opening an address concerning internal conflicts in Algeria (“Mourad Medelci on…” 1). By understanding how Algeria became poor, one can formulate a solution as to how to bring or help bring Algeria out of poverty. Algeria is still working to become a nation that their citizens could be proud of. Foreign ministers, such as Mourad Medici, exemplifies such action to help his nation become greater. Poverty in Algeria is not a matter to be avoided and hidden. The fact that poverty had arisen in Algeria is a great problem. Countries in the world are all connected in some way whether they be rivals or allies. Either way, poverty in Algeria can impact either ally or rival, so countries and people must be aware of this problem. Students can be impacted by observing and learning about the poverty of not only Algeria but other nations in the way that they can be a generation that can solve and prevent similar problems from happening.
