Career in financial planning is more than just helping people plan for their future financially; it is a way make a difference. Financial planners help people to make wise decisions to protect their families and their assets every day, to start investing for growth and to achieve other goals. Besides, financial planning industry provides an opportunity to determine one’s income level and to be in charge of time. Financial planners get to choose how hard to work, how long to work, and how many clients to work with. Furthermore, there is an opportunity for fair career advancement. First of all, I possess very good interpersonal skills. I have an experience in customer service field where I had to communicate with people very often, see and understand their points of view, and reframe a discussion accordingly; and I very enjoyed this position. Secondly, I am very hard-working and solution oriented. Rather than dwelling on dilemmas, I try my best to solve them; and I can work over time if needed. And finally, I have good analytical skills. I always try to see the big picture, find patterns in seemingly random data and make appropriate conclusions. As for co-op experience, I hope to get career related experience that is beyond limitations of the classroom, and to test my existed skills and theoretical knowledge in a real workplace. Besides, co-op allows to explore different career options and to build connections with potential employers which is vital for successful future.
