A Healthier Alternative to Fast Food Most of America faces a serious crisis that consists of, "obesity-related illness, including chronic disease, disability, and death"(President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition). In today's society many American families eat too much fast food leading to many health risks. Not many families are aware of how harmful fast food is to one's health. Many of the reasons why people tend to eat at fast food restaurants is due to the fact advertisements influence them. This is one of the major reasons why obesity is increasing in America because people are letting advertisements and social media misguide them. People are not watching out for the dangers that fast food causes and how it impacts their lives. There are fast food restaurants that do not promote healthy choices for people to chose from. For these reasons restaurants should be required to serve healthier foods because it would reduce health diseases, obesity would decrease and people will obtain more nutrition. Many people are not aware of all the health problems fast food causes. Fast food restaurants cause tremendous impacts in the lives of many people. Although eating at fast food restaurants is one of the most unhealthiest habits among many people. Some in which are not aware of how awful fast food is for their bodies. However, if restaurants serve healthier foods America would be a better place. If we want to see a change in the fast food industry the United States Federal Government should regulate it in order to prevent diseases and obesity from occurring. The main priority the government should focus on is by making fast food restaurants serve healthier foods which will lead us becoming a healthier
