Many people believe that self-choice causes obesity, but fast food is the cause of it. According to The New York Times, teens sued McDonalds for making them obese. Even though people are responsible for their actions, I believe that fast food truly is the cause of obesity. Obesity in America is constantly on the rise. There are so many different health issues you can obtain from being obese, particularly bad ones. Two out of every three Americans are considered to be obese. In the 21st century, The United States has one of the highest obesity rate in the world. Often times people wonder why do others eat fast food. Majority of food served at these restaurants contain high calories, fats, and many other health problems. Many people order the ordinary cheeseburger and fries. On average a large order of French fries contains roughly around 570 calories while a cheeseburger contains about 350 calories. Along with the high calories, you have the high sodium. A Big-Mac with cheese from McDonalds contain up to 1380 milligrams of sodium. As you can see all of the things contribute to obesity. Yes, we find the easy way out with inexpensive food, but it does not mean it is better for us. Even though these low costing meals may taste delightful to some, they are not good for all. They also come with life threatening side effects. The most sensitive and strongest case is death. Therefore, inhabiting lifestyle changes is a must. It might be hard to adjust to a healthier lifestyle at first, but in the end it will all be worth it. Incorporating things such as walking, running, and bicycling are exciting ways to get the family involved. You can also invest in fruits and vegetables that both parents and children like.
