Famine Crisis “815 million” worldwide still go hungry every day (Concern USA 1). Some states and countries have no food to eat so are forced to leave and use other coping mechanisms. Syria is in a complex state of famine due to droughts and population displacement.
Syria has many causes to the food famine that is going on. Syria’s most effective cause would be drought in “2006 Syria has had its worst drought in 900 years” (News hour 10). The food production in this country has dropped by “40% since 2010” (Rohrer 3). This caused their farms to die down and also their water to be limited and there food to be expensive. Many people have also been fainting due to the lack or nutrition they are receiving. If they are not eating trash they are eating expired foods, not eating, and even taking their own lives. Even though there is a store house “10 miles” away there bread cost “85 times” more for “25 ounces” (Japan 8). This country has to eat anything they find even if it is off the floor just to survive the day.
This country is having people flee out for coping strategies. Syria is trying to help out as many people in a timely manner to prevent this hunger famine that is going on. In this country “174,500” people have already had to leave due to this hunger crisis (Japan 3). If this country keeps moving people out to safer places with cheaper foods there won’t be nearly as many hunger issues. Everybody is doing their best to prevent their peers from fainting and not getting the nutrition they need.
While Syria is in a complex famine due to many different reasons everyone is doing their own part. This country is eating trash and even taking their lives due to this issue. This effective crisis is trying to be helped by different coping mechanisms from all
