For my Second Quarter book report I chose a series by Jen Calonita. Belles is a trilogy about a southern girl named Isabelle Scott. Her mother died when she was only six years old and because no other family members were known about at the time she lived with her grandmother in Harborside. Ten summers later, her grandmother’s health began to fail. To get away from the stress of her home life Izzie would go to the beach with her friend Kylie Brooks where she meets a cute surfer named Brayden Townsend. Her grandmother and her social worker, Barbara, had been working on finding Izzie’s father, Bill Monroe. Without warning one day after swim practice Izzie is sent to live with her “Uncle Bill” 20 minutes away in Emerald Cove. Her grandma is sent to a nursing home paid for by her most gracious “Uncle”. Bill Monroe, State Senator, is not at all prepared for his niece to join his family. His wife, Maureen, tells their three children about their new relative and Mirabelle, Isabelle’s new cousin, freaks out. Connor, the youngest, thinks it is out of this world that he will be getting a new family member. Hayden, the oldest, loves that his parents are willing to let a complete stranger into their home. Izzie starts attending her new school, Emerald Prep, just one week after moving to E.C. where everyone automatically judges her as being the new kid from disgusting Harborside, all based on the stories told from the sleazy editors at the Journal and the Gazette. She feels like she doesn’t belong there. Being a teenage girl that is use to wearing whatever she wants to is now being forced to wear a school uniform. On her first day she is shown around campus by Mira who completely ignores her in order to stay in with her circle of friends. Whe... ... middle of paper ... ... Zoe showed up. If her family and Brayden hadn’t been by her side the whole time to talk to Iz would have probably ended up in a mental hospital. My family has always been there for me which is why I took our family photo for my art project. Even though we can get under each other’s skin sometimes at the end of the day we all still love each other and have one another to talk to and to blow steam off of. Like in the books how Izzie and Mira went to their mom for help I go to my mom for help all the time. Mira’s brothers were there to watch out for them when it came to boys and dating. I hate to say it but my little brother and younger guy cousins have gone on dates with me and my boyfriend’s more than anyone. I guess what I’m trying to say is that family will always be there for you. Even the times when you wish they weren’t. In the end family is all you’ve got.
Working as a teacher serving at-risk four-year-old children, approximately six of her eighteen students lived in foster care. The environment introduced Kathy to the impact of domestic violence, drugs, and family instability on a developing child. Her family lineage had a history of social service and she found herself concerned with the wellbeing of one little girl. She had been labeled a troublemaker, yet the Harrisons took the thirty-hour training for foster and adoptive care and brought her home to adopt. Within six months, the family would also adopted Angie’s sister Neddy. This is when the Harrison family dynamic drastically changes and Kathy begins a journey with over a hundred foster children passing through her home seeking refuge.

The book I chose for my book report is Anne of Green Gables. It is written by L. M Montgomery. I really liked this book. This book is a fiction book. It was funny in some parts. Anne is a really funny character and I liked reading about what she would do next.
Family can not be described in a simple definition, in my opinion, a family is bigger than just that. Everyone tends to think that family is just people that are related to you and will always be there for you, but I do not think it is merely that simple. For me family is there when you do not even need them. People that are constantly making you feel loved and never making you feel unwanted. Family is not the blood that runs through your veins, it is the emotional connection you feel with someone. I do not feel an emotion connection with every family member. The ones I do have a connection with I would sacrifice anything for because for me that is the true definition of family.
Marli, my youngest sister, is definitely the life of the party. She loves attention and is convinced she’s going to the Olympics. I tell her if there were a drama queen competition at the Olympics she will be a gold medalist, but until she finds another talent, she may need to pick a new dream. My other sister, Mckenzee, is only thirteen months younger than me. We fight, a whole lot, but most of the time she is my best friend. My family pushes me to be the best I can be at everything. If I am ever doing something wrong, they do not hesitate to offer constructive criticism. This support has pushed me to succeed in all I do. Apart from my immediate family, I am blessed with a large extended family. My mom’s side of the family is pretty spread out so there are not many family gatherings, but the fellowship I lack with them is made up from the amount of time I spend with my dad’s family. They all live in New Boston, which makes it easy to see at least one relative, outside of my immediate family, everyday. My family is my support system. They make up most of the crowd in the stands at all of my sporting events. Anytime someone achieves something worth celebrating, we celebrate. From the birthday parties at the cabin, weekly outings to Maria’s, yearly family vacations, and laughs always shared, I have learned that family is the most important thing someone can have. Families are always there for each other and I hope to have a family of my own as close as the one I grew up
Throughout my life my family has always been there for everything. From when I was little and falling off my bike to helping me with my plans for the future, there was always someone from my family making sure that I was okay or helping me make the right decision. There were times, and there still is today, when they can annoy me and all I want to do is get away. At the end of the day, no matter what happens, you are still going to be related to them. You can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family. Your friends might not always be there, but you can always count on family.
My family is crazy. We are all very different yet alike all at the same time. In my personal family household I have my 2 daughters Olivia and Ruby, my boyfriend Eric, and my dog Pookie. I also had a cat who was my first pet; Lucky. He passed away 11.04.2015. But like everyone else I also have a mom, dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and a whole bunch of little cousins, my sister Layla and a brother who I’ve never met and not sure what his name is. My family is like any other family dysfunctional yet we love each other despite all of that. I am pretty close with my family but we can always be closer depending who you ask. Some of us are scattered in different places, I have a few relatives in California but other than that we all live in
When the word “family” is discussed, most people think of mothers, fathers, and other siblings. Some people think of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even cousins and more on the pedigree tree. Without family in people's lives, they would not be the same people that they grew up to be today and in the future. When people hear the word family they think about, the ones who will help them in any way they can whether it’s money, support, advice, or anything to help them succeed in life. Family will forever be the backbone of support.
My family definitely has its problems; that’s undisputable. Nevertheless, my parents and my grandparents (excluding the grandfather I’ve never met) have always done their best to implant a strong sense of morals, dedication, and integrity into the foundation of my very being. These are all things for which I will forever be grateful, and for which I will never forget.
Even though times get tough and family life can get stressful at times I know that I will always be welcome in my family. Each of the different experiences that I have do different things to make me feel more comfortable with my family. The road trips and driving in the car make me feel more comfortable around my family it lets me learn new things about them and get to know them better. Doing the same things as them make it much easier to relate to my family and if you can relate to someone then it makes you feel more comfortable and connected to them. The everyday things in life assure me that I have a place in my family and it shows me where that place is. I already feel very comfortable around my family but I know that as I continue living the course of my life I know that I will be able to feel even more comforted around them.
My family is a love I have. My immediate family consists of six people: my dad, mom, and three sisters and me. However, I love these people on a different scale than I love books. Whether it is a hand to guide, a tissue to wipe away tears, or simply a smile to make my day better I can count on people to love me and so, henceforth, I love them in return. I love my parents for many reasons. They are always there for me when I need help or am need of anything.
My family are the ones that no doubt would be by my side no matter what happens. Although we go through thick and thin, our relationship as a family is the strongest. Everybody in my family; are hard workers, they strive for the better; paving the path for future generations including me. The two foundations of that family is my mom, and my dad. They are the ones that provide for me, send me to school, make sure there’s a roof over my head, and providing food on the table. They go above and beyond what they have in order to appease me and to make sure I get the best of everything in life.
Most people today think that family is just being close and knowing each others past and secrets. When really, family means being there for someone when they really need you. Family is being able to pick up the phone and call someone at whatever time of the day, and them be there for you as soon as they hang up the phone. Times get rough and if they’re not there, then you shouldn’t consider them family. Without a family, who else would you have? Your family is seriously the only ones you can count on. You know that without a doubt your family will always be there right by your side during the good and bad times. They will never betray your trust, nor talk behind your back. No matter what, you will always have
But when it comes to family, their love is always unconditional. My father’s absence in my life and in my aunt’s life would never make us love him any less. Just like my aunt would never reject me because father and mother weren’t married when they decided to have me. Until this day I resented my father’s side of the family because I believed they wanted nothing to do with me. But the way my emotions reacted once I found out I was going to meet them made me realize I was hiding my fear with anger. In the end, my family as a whole is the reason that I am the person that I am today. It’s the way that different personalities all come together as one, the way my family handles hard situations, and the closeness I have with them that has really impact me and my life. I know that I would not be as cheerful, hardworking, or positive without seeing all these qualities around me for a majority of my life. It’s astonishing how just 6 people can change you for the better. I know I would be in a very different place in my life if it wasn’t for my family. Family is different for everyone, and mine is truly the best people for me.
