Every community starts with the family unit. Family units birthed and guided by biblical principles is the key to a very cohesive community. Every family has a structure which is defined by some form of hierarchy. Now by hierarchy that doesn’t mean the family unit is designed in a military order? Family hierarchy is a system where every member of the family unit understands and respect an order of relative authority? This sense of family order has been infused by flawed or misconceived understanding that takes a total exception to God’s purpose. The Divine Will of God recognises that the parents should be the leadership bloc of the family unit. This is because there’s a need for significant paradigm shift in the understanding and approach of these? Firstly, the family hierarchy; having identified the model of a family hierarchy (unit) established by God within HIS intentions? That is, for the man and his wife to infact be bonded by the sacred act of union to become one in body and spirit? It becomes expedient that Satan thought it effective to contest this understanding by propagating a notion of asymmetry. Hence, this evolves issues and policies, practices or ideas that creates and further an agenda of asymmetric understanding of God’s Will for family units? That said, it equally confounds understanding that couples who actually made vows to love one another, pledged their bodies to each other as one in body and spirit should infact question the basis of such only few years into their marital union? Thus, it is common to hear some say; “My husband acts like he owns me…, it is my body I can do whatever I like with it”? That’s the ignorance that ought to be addressed in a pre-nuptial bible class? You are both one in body and in spirit! Whatever affects you, affects him and vice versa. Both of you are the hierarchy of your family. It must never be in competition but as team, never in a fight to pull down the other but to help build each other
