Falling Action Falling action is the part of the book where the author ties together the different parts of the climax to conclude the book. In Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, the falling action follows TJ and the other Averys being violently pulled out of their house. After this, the author starts to tie together the climax by sending Cassie to get Papa’s help. When Cassie, Little Man, and Christopher John arrive back at their house, Papa grabs a gun aside from Mama’s compelling debate to not take the gun, and bolts out of the house in hopes of saving Stacey, TJ, and the other Averys. Falling Over Sideways is a well-known book written by the same author as Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie. Falling Over SIdeways was written and published in October of 2016, similar to Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie, it is based on Claire, a thirteen year old girl, that is in the eighth grade. Sonnenblick creates a dramatic story about Claire, who has multiple problems and hardships including a prominent zit appearing on the first day of school and watching her friends at dance school move into advanced levels while she stays behind. But these problems start to fade, as one morning her father has a stroke, causing her family and her life to change forever, and lets not forget she starts her period. The author’s main purpose of writing this story is to show younger readers that even if there's a sense of abandonment, there’s always someone there who loves and cares.
“When I fall” is a lyrical song written by Steven Page and Ed Robertson of the Barenaked Ladies. It is about a window washer who is at a critical moment in his life. The song is structured in such a way that a progression and transformation is seen in the window washers troubles from worrisome to life threatening. The window washer is the persona of the poem, and in the first stanza he expresses a fear. He is somewhere he doesn’t want to be and is scared. This is followed by the chorus of the song in which it is made clear that he wants to make a change in his life, but is afraid of failure. At this point the window washers troubles take on the form of deep mental anguish where he resorts to prayer and laments on the physically and mentally troubling aspects of his world. In the next stanza, the window washer comments on the prestige of the boardroom he looks into as he washes the windows. Here he addresses the change he wants to make in his life and states that he would like to swap places with the business men in the room. However, he realizes that this is impossible because they would never agree to lower themselves to the stature of a window washer. When he realizes this, his thoughts become radical and he contemplates suicide. By the end of the song however, he pulls himself together and realizes that what he does and who is does have some value in the world.

There are many important Themes in the novel, Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry. These themes include: racial prejudice, loyalty, honesty, friendship, personal integrity and respect for others. Although Jeremy Simms and TJ Avery are fairly minor people in the book, their characters are used to inforce and strengthen the themes of the novel.

The exposition starts with a character named, Charlie Joe Jackson. He is in middle school and he hates reading. This all started when Charlie had to read a book for his language arts teacher; the book was called Billy’s Bargain. Billy’s Bargain was about the pitcher who throws a no hitter and made a bargain with the devil. Charlie does what he always does, and that was read the back of the book, the first chapter, the last chapter, and the inside flaps. Charlie always took shortcuts when it came to reading. In the rising action, Charlie has a friend named Timmy, and Timmy and Charlie have known each other for about two years. They have always made this deal if Charlie bought Timmy an ice cream sandwich, Timmy would tell Charlie what Billy’s Bargain was about. But one day Charlie see’s the look in Timmy’s eye’s, which was the look of blackmail. As he walked up he asked Timmy how was your day. He said, “Okay.” then he said, “ I’m really hungry today… I could eat one, or two, or three ice cream sandwiches.” Guess what Charlie had to do. He bought TImmy three ice cream sandwiches just so Timmy could tell Charlie about the book. This was the climax. The next day he went to the library and looked up the word blackmail. Under the word blackmail, Timmy’s picture was there. This was the falling action. He saw the librarian and she was an old friend of Charlie’s. In the first grade she tried over and over again to make him read but he didn’t. To Charlie she was evil because she was still librarian. The resolution is that, Charlie Joe has had a lot of devised ways to get out of reading. He has also made up a lot of tips, that can get you out of reading in a different way....

One of the programmatic sounds found in the final movement can be interpreted as the presence of thunder and lightning. At around measure sixteen we see the first instance Haydn used his techniques to portray these sounds. A piece of the score is pictured below. At this point of the movement, Haydn composes a large downbeat, marked forte, which involved all of the instruments in the ensemble. The downbeat is followed by a continuous harmonic fall, which is composed with fast notes and descending scales. This downbeat is often understood as the initial lighting strike, followed by the loud and fading boom of the thunder. This theme and technique is repeated many times throughout the movement.
