I decided to take Guidance 30 because I wanted to make sure that nursing is the right major for me. I have a lot of hobbies, but I don’t want to do them as a job for the rest of my life. I knew that I want to work in a job that will allow me to communicate with other people and also help them. Since there were many jobs that allow a person to help others, I wanted to take this class to learn more about myself and my skills that I never considered as skills. My Keirsey Temperament Code was Rational (NT). The four letter code that I got from the quiz in www.personalitytype.com was INTJ and my True Colors are Orange, Gold, and Blue. After looking through these accomplishment, one of the thing that I learn is my determination to learn something. Sometimes I am close to giving up; however, I never did. I always push myself to finish and learn. Communication is also something that is the big factor into completing these accomplishments. Personally I prefer that job that will pay me well even though I tried to stay away from looking at the salary range. I think that one of the main reason that I wasn’t sure about my career choice is because the salary range is the first thing that I look at when I search about a job. However, I the salary ranges from 45,000-100,000 per year is good for me as long as I enjoy the job. The working conditions that I would to work in is a safe environment with coworkers who I can rely on. The benefits has to be good and will be help me during my retirement. The top three career options that I would like to learn more about are travel nurse, pharmacist, and nurse practitioners. My ideal career is working in a good condition with good coworkers. Adult nursing is a subject I am passionate about. In my opinion, there is nothing more important than the health, safety and security of one’s self and others. I aspire to achieve these attributes for individuals in everyday life and this course will help me to do so. I find helping people rewarding and adult nursing provides a professional platform to achieve this target. It also helps me to progress to a stable job that is solely concentrated on making a positive difference in someone’s life. For this reason, I would feel privileged to be accepted on to this course.
Leading You to a Healthy Lifestyle: Nurse Practitioners. I have imagined myself in several different careers that have interested me as I've grown up, from styling hair to being a fashion designer, and even a professional singer. Now, even though it is crazy to believe time has flown by so fast, I am at the age where I am deciding what I want to major in. Even though all of those professions I listed above were very interesting, there was one job when I was growing up that I knew would be a stable and interesting profession: a nurse practitioner. I have always been interested in health sciences and seeing as though I was familiar with a doctor’s office/hospital setting due to being born with a birth defect, I felt that nurse practitioner was the most suitable job for me.
The career I chose is an Athletic Trainer. “Athletic Trainers are highly qualified, multi skilled healthcare professionals,” (“Athletic Training”). They are also known as a person who is certified in the field of sports medicine. I chose athletic training because it is more than taping ankles and stretching muscles to me. It is my two passions combined into one job. Athletic trainers help people grow on and off the field. I must understand what type of schooling and skills will be required, the income and future of this career, along with the experience and attitude I will need to succeed in this field.
Nursing is a complex field to put oneself in and it requires a lot from a person. There are all kinds of complications to deal with, such as mental, physical, and emotional. Stress is an ongoing occurrence when dealing with patients, with co-workers, and even with the procedures themselves. Proper communication skills are a necessity when working in the health care field. This keeps people connected and open with each other. Being a nurse is not only intricate, but it is very rewarding. A nurse gets to see a patient grow and become healthier, which is quite rewarding to know that they helped make that possible; to put all of one’s effort and hard work and have it pay off in the end. Being a nurse is a complicated but a rewarding occupation that requires amazing communication skills.

Becoming a Professional Nurse remains a mystery up until this day. Consequently, the answer is still unknown. Furthermore, to figure out the answer why I became a professional nurse starting from the beginning is best. Hopefully, an answer will be provided by the completion of this paper.
I have always loved working in fields that are considered “hands on”. I have always loved working with multiple people that come from many different backgrounds. I think having that around me, makes things interesting and helps me stay interested. I thought I had found my career choice for the rest of my life in nursing. However, life happens for people sometimes in a way you never imagined possible. In my situation, I became very ill during the peak of my nursing career. Due to this, working as a nurse was very hard on my body. I was advised by my surgeon and cardiologist that I should think of a career change or take my nursing career off the floor and start working behind a desk in the medical field. Working behind a desk did not appeal to me at all!
Both my current job and are dream jobs are in the medical field they are very similar yet different. For example, my job now is a certified nursing assistant and my dream job is to become a registered nurse. Both jobs consist of taking guardianship of people providing hands-on work, comfort care, and compassion. My dream is to further my career from a nurse assistant and become a nurse that does more for people in the world.
Adult Nursing is a very rewarding career which provides endless opportunities. I would describe myself as a caring and compassionate person. I believe I possess these qualities naturally. I am compelled to put other people’s needs before my own. I can contribute my personal qualities to this course of being dedicated and determined into committing myself to this 3 year course and excelling academically. It’s been my desire, longing for a nursing career since I was in my primary and secondary school. At the age of 12, I began to look after children and baby-sitting then, from there, I gained the understanding of how to deal with children. Completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) has been one of my goals after I graduated from my Associate Degree in Nursing, and I said one of my goals because my ultimate goal is to become an Advance Practice Registered Nurse. It is the first time I am taking classes online and all my efforts will be in turn this journey into a positive experience to achieve my goals. Nurses play a huge role in the health care system. A nurse is a bridge between doctor and patient. s/he is a compassionate, understanding and nonjudgmental yet firm and grounded. S/he is probably one of the most important yet least appreciated person in a patient’s life. When many think of a nurse they probably recognize them by a white hat and uniform. Today those white uniforms have been replaced with vividly colored scrubs worn by both male and female nurses, and many other employees in healthcare. Nurses are not just the people that are limited to bedside care and drug administration; they are highly skilled and well-educated nursing professionals.
I have always been told that I have a big heart because I am willing to take care of anyone or anything that I see. I would love to become a nurse because when I was around seventeen years old I had to take on the role of taking care of my grandparents. It all started in 1998 when my grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer and dementia. My grandfather had “sundowners,” which is a form of dementia. With this illness, a person is unsettled in their mind and body. They need to be moving and busy doing something to feel right. A few years later my grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer. It was hard for her to do much of anything, with the house work and with grandpa. So this is when I began to help out more.
Three years ago I came to this great country following a goal, a dream, and looking for new opportunities. I never thought that today I would be studying nursing. Honestly, these ideas never crossed my mind after having been a doctor for 20 years in Cuba. Being an immigrant brings overcome barriers where there is no time for fears and doubts, which only have to pursue a particular aim for which to fight relentlessly. Few times we find good opportunities to study, and this one, in particular, I would not lose it. Studying nursing for me would be like starting over, although not entirely, this would allow me to get closer to what I 've always liked, patient care. Simultaneously, it filled me with many questions: Classes in a foreign language would allow me to interact with teachers and at the same time learn from them? How lessons would be taught in the college courses? How would be the interaction with the classmates?
The Career Exploration choice that appealed to me the most was the job of a Flight Attendant. I think that traveling the world would be very exciting and as a Flight Attendant I would have a chance to travel, meet lots of different people and experience different cultures around the world. Flight Attendants do not make a lot of money at first but I think it would be ok to work up to a higher salary, especially since Zarin said that the airline pays for your expenses. The idea of being a flight attendant is a little impossible for me. I don’t think I would enjoy the constant moving around or having to deal with people all the time. However, the idea of spending at least a few years of my life traveling the world as always appealed to me. I think having job security and arrangements would allow me a safe and structured way to experience different environments.
