Explain Why I Want To Join The Military Essay

For hundreds of years, millions of people around the world have wanted to serve their country because they felt that it is the goal that they needed to do in their life. One of my objectives in life is that I honestly want to do in life has become a member of the US military. I want to join because my grandfather and my uncle were both in the USMC and I have always looked up to the both of them. A long time ago, I have thought of them as being heroes for what they have done because they have risked their lives to help protect this country. I feel that it is my life's plan that I need to take that path and follow in my relative's footsteps. There are many reasons why someone should join, but one of the reasons that I want to join is because there are massive vehicles that I might have the chance to control. Yes, I know that that is what a ton of little kids say, but I have always been fascinated by the size and the toughness of the machines. Their massive size can mount giant guns like the .50 caliber machine gun. One vehicle that I would truly like to drive would be one of the highly common vehicles, the Hummer. In general, I truly desire to drive a large massive vehicle, but that is not the only reason. …show more content…

For many generations in my family, I have had relatives join and serve in the military. Whether it be a convoy truck driver, a cook, or a regular infantry soldier, they have done a bunch of jobs. My grandpa served in the Vietnam war, his job was a truck driver and never needed kill anyone because he never could do it. My uncle Sam served in Iraq and he was just an infantryman. They both served in the marines. I have had two uncles serve in the navy, one as a cook and one another infantry soldier. All of these men have absolutely made me desire to have the utmost respect for US
