College is overwhelming but you can still reach for the stars and you can succeed. You can get a nice life thanks to college. Skeptics like to point out that the income gap isn’t rising as fast as it once was, especially for college graduates who don’t get an advanced degree (Leonhardt).At the same time, an overwhelming majority of college graduates - 86% - say that college has been a good investment for them personally (Pew Social & Demographic Trends). They say college graduates also have better interpersonal skills, live longer, have healthier children, and have proven their ability to achieve a major milestone(Is college education worth it?). Firstly, education helps people do higher-skilled work, get jobs with better-paying companies or open their own businesses ( Leonhardt ). When parents want their kid to go to college, they want their kid to be better and succeed in life. Next just under half of the public (47%) says the main purpose of a college education is to teach work-related skills and knowledge, while 39% say it is to help a student grow personally and intellectually( Pew Social & Demographic Trends.). College helps you know what you possibly want to do with you life, I really want to do something with the arts so I'm going to sign up with fine arts school. Lastly in 2016, the average income for people 25 years old and older with a high school diploma was $35,615, while the income for those with a bachelor's degree was $65,482, and $92,525 for those with advanced degrees (Is college education worth it?). Someone will go to college so they can learn more about what i want to do so they can get a higher chance in success.
