EXCALIBUR!!! when someone says Excalibur most people think of the sword when i hear it i think of the goofy looking character that transforms into a sword. they’re pretty much the same thing, but most people would disagree. According to the information i've collected the character EXCALIBUR! is based heavily on the actual sword in the older stories. there are many details and bits of information in the show that ties together with the actual story. excalibur is/was a great and magnificent sword, and in the show SoulEater excalibur is portrayed almost exactly like in the old stories with only a few minor differences.

is found in a cave and in the cave you must walk through a river to find him. in every story of EXCALIBUR! there are different versions of him being found and put back in a lake where the lady of the lake is located. this connects with the many people in the show that find him then put him back. “the lady of the lake was said to be a fairy”, and in the cave EXCALIBUR was in also was the home of a few fairies ("Faeries." In some stories “EXCALIBUR” is said to be forged by elves, (like in lord of the rings not santa's midget elves) elves are also portrayed as fairies, or fairy people. EXCALIBURS! blade was tremendously sharp and magical, gives its owner more skill and power than he ordinarily possessed. truly is insufferable to all but but a "chosen" few. And because of this those who to try and use excalibur long enough to achieve anything significant are referred to as "hero" and "king" those with a strong will can withstand these annoying deficiency. Anyone is capable of building Excalibur but no one can put up with his shenanigans so it is difficult for him to have a meister. His dysfunctional personality manifest itself mostly in the word "FOOL!" used as a means of interruption to those Excalibur views with disdain and contempt and due to his superiority complex is practically relevant to everyone. Excalibur also likes to go on numerous rants about himself before bursting into song. If these deficiencies aren't enough toward you off and maybe his mannerisms will surely repulse even the most convicted of individuals whether it's from Excalibur waving his cane in your face or one of his deplorable sneezing fit . Even though he comes off as a goofy character he has portrayed moments of complete seriousness when called upon. He was shown being serious with king arthur and Lord death a.k.a the Grim Reaper. he is also sometimes willing to lend himself to people without his provisions like Liz when they were trying to save kid. this hints at a more complex personality in fact one could consider his annoying personality was crafted as a result to him being the other god of madness born from rage” ("Soul Eater Wiki." - Facts and Info for the Fans.
