Cultural Diet Argument Around the world, there are many people and many different cultures. Each of these cultures has diets that are different because of where they live, and what is most easily available in that area. In America there isn’t a specific cultural diet and people tend to eat very unhealthily. Most cultural diets are based on an active lifestyle and they include many fresh foods. The Mexican cultural diet provides all the necessary nutrients and things needed to lead a healthy lifestyle because the carbs in this diet are healthy and have vitamins, has a large amount of fresh fruit and vegetables, and contains lots of different and healthy proteins. First, the Mexican cultural diet provides a very different variety of foods. The more different foods a person eats the healthier they will be. The main components of this diet are fresh fruits and vegetables, beans, corn and flour tortillas, rice and meat like chicken, pork, and beef. Carbohydrates are a primary source of glucose which is very important for a balanced diet and most carbohydrates are a good source of protein as well. Because agriculture is one of the main industries in Mexico the diet is full of fresh fruit and vegetables, avocados, papaya, guava, plantains, persimmons, corn, potatoes, and beans are examples of some of these.
