I see that there is a lot of irony in this story. I would even go as far to say that it revolves around irony. I say this because in the story, the farmer is a very cruel man. The animals are then told to rebel and lead without following the acts of the farmer. In the end though, it is revealed that the animals end up behaving just like the farmer that they replaced.
In the beginning of the story, it is revealed that Mr. Jones doesn’t treat his farm animals very well. In the story, at the beginning, Old Major states that man considers himself the
Lord of all the animals. He sets them to work, he gives back to them the bare minimum that will prevent them from starving, and the rest he keeps for himself.(chapter 1, 9th paragraph)
This means that the way that Mr. Jones treats his animals is like a dictatorship. This could also be loosely considered a parasitic relationship. In a parasitic relationship, there is one organism living off of another organism. This can possibly harm or even kill the host organism. In this situation, the parasite could be considered the farmer, Mr. Jones, and the host could be considered the animals …show more content…

In the beginning of the 6th chapter, the book states that, “All that year the animals worked like slaves.” In the 10th chapter, one man states that “the lower animals on Animal Farm did more work and received less food than any animals in the county” This shows that even though the rebellion happened and that the concepts of a better farm were contemplated, in the end, the scenario was the same as before, if not worse. The second quote can be related to how the africans were enslaved by the europeans during the slave trade. The animals worked tirelessly, like the slaves did. This shows that there has not been much change from when Mr. Jones was in charge, despite the rebellion that’s against these ideas and
