The main ethical issues that are addressed in these articles are that fast food corporations are refusing to increase the wages of their employees and have chosen to ignore the issue of low wages so that they can increase their profits; large corporations are making their employees work long hours, with minimum pay which is in turn affecting the obesity in the country; fast food restaurants are using the promise of a toy to influence children into getting their parents to buy them the products of the fast food restaurants; the advertising of fast food outlets has directly affected the health and obesity problems among teens and pre-teens and these fast food companies …show more content…

These are important issues because as providers of goods and services, these fast food corporations and companies have an obligation not only to their customers but to their employees to act according to the legislation and ethical standards of the country.
According to the ‘Consumer Protection Act’, we as consumers have the “right to fair value, good quality and safety as well as multiple other rights”, and when fast food companies are severing food that is affecting the health of the people buying their products (consumers) it is in direct violation of the Act.
When it comes to the lack of food safety and the buying of inexpensive ingredients, this is a very important ethical issue within the fast food industry. A business main aim is to make a profit and it is nothing without a consumer to purchase their goods and services.
So, it is extremely important to take into account the way in which the food is stored, labelled and handle to ensure that customers are given a product that will not be detrimental to their health.
