Working with people in a group gave me opportunity to learn qualities like time management, problem solving strategies, and teamwork. During my dental school, I was active member of the organising committee of cultural events, where I got a chance meet different people to organize annual sports and cultural events that helped me to work and communicate cooperatively with people of different ages, gender, race, religion or political persuasion.

During Internship period in the dental school, I was exposed to dental screening and treatment camps in surrounding communities. While organizing such camps, with limited number of students and time and time we successfully treated more than 1300 patients which was greatest accomplishment for our team. …show more content…

This exposure has made me competent enough to understand the complexity of dental diseases and also its desired treatment modalities. Having said that, I feel there is still a lot to be learned and achieved. I am certainly sure that Advanced Standing program at your institute will fulfill my desire through learning advanced techniques, sharpening my clinical skills, and providing me with exposure to current innovations in dentistry. In addition, it will be beneficial to get international exposure and a chance to work with a diverse group of dentists from all over the world. Now, I am working as a Research Assistant in the department of Epidemiology, Tulane University. I am working on the “Bogalusa Heart Study: The Role of Vascular Aging in Cognitive and Physical Function” with Lydia Bazzano, MD, PhD Principal Investigator. For this position, my responsibilities are maintaining office and patients records, data entry, tracking database, and assisting study personnel in a study. I’ve also participated in multiple trainings to enhance technical skills to handle patient data. This experience gave me a deep knowledge in the research field in the United States.

The shadowing experience under Dr. Rekha Chaudhari, DDS provided me an exposure of the leading edge Dental Care in United States. I was intrigued by the advanced Dental technology and equipments she used to treat the patients. I participated in case discussion and treatment plan for different dental conditions.I observed various types of dental procedures, history taking, management of patient, and office management. I also discussed management of emergency medical situation during dental treatments.These aspects broadened my dental experience and taught me many new things about the US dental health care
