This paper looks to explore a highly researched and attention calling topic of leadership, specifically leadership as it relates to the next generation leading the workplace territory, that is the generation of Millennials. Leadership, in general, has been an evolving topic of discussion for researchers and even organizations as they become more and more involved in the process of hiring and training top talent. Are Millennials ready to replace retiring Baby Boomers in leading organizations worldwide or is the perception of competency holding them back. I believe it is now the time of transition in the workplace and this next generation has the ability and traits to fill leadership roles more effectively than estimated, generation differences may be creating biases directly undermining the performance of this latter generation. Previous studies have tested among many different conditions and variables and recorded their observations according. Therefore, this study will focus on three variables to examine leadership readiness from another angle, Millennial leadership readiness (DV) will be set dependent on Millennial recognition (IV) with experience being a huge confound. Leadership readiness in Millennials will be measured while manipulating recognition received by senior managers, one group will receive special feedback sessions while the group is assessed without any recognition. Upon measuring variables, there will answers to the LPI (Leadership Performance Inventory), analyzing effects of recognition on performance as well as answers to how long a participant has worked in related positions are taken into account. It will be detected from data analysis whether or not senior recognition feedback makes a difference in the performance of young leaders, does it instill true confidence to effectively lead. Managers hesitant of moving a Millennial employee to the next level in management on evaluations will prove that more training and experience are needed for leadership readiness. Further research could look at individuals who fail to obtain recognition from senior level management in the workplace, what causes one to be unrecognized by others at work and what could this generation do
