Did you know that “many athletes have faced consequences for behavior that many perceived to be illegal, unethical, or immoral on and off their playing fields?” (1st page of the article) Even though some of these athletes performance in the FIFA World Cup or in the 2016 Rio Olympics led them to winning big achievements and awards for being a great role model and winning some of those athletes ends up doing not so great things after their season is over. Many people view these athletes as role models but in reality they are not. I believe that international and professional athletes should be held to moral and ethical standards in order to compete because of the crazy things athletes do like perceiving to be illegal, being unethical and being immoral. If they keep on doing bad decisions they won't be considered role models anymore and the whole world will end up seeing or hearing the famous athletes bad behavior one way or another. Since sports is such a big part of our lives everyone will end up knowing what bad behavior the athletes have done, there is no way they can keep it as a secret . For example, Michael Phelps was put in rehabilitation and from that day forward he will always be publically criticized as it says in Document H. Even though Michael Phelps has won many awards and medals people won't see the role model he used to be but see the bad behavior he has done and they won't see Michael Phelps the same way they used
