Women and men in china are thought to be like the Yin and Yang, the yin has negative energy like the men and the yang has positive energy like the women.Men are known to be the boss of the house and the muscle, while women are known to be the caretakers and the housewives. While their fight for rights have earned them some political power, it did not offer lasting equal rights. Excluding women in china from owning land. Does this mean that women in china have no rights or say in their society? Women in ancient china were subservient, prepared to obey others, as a part of their duties. Although this is true, not all women are appreciated in china due to the one child only policy. Women can only have one child and thousands of girls are killed every day due to the fact that they are not wanted, they are the main victims. In the article, “Primary resource :Women's Roles in China: Changes Over Time”, Cara Abraham tells us that “The population explosion placed new burdens on women, including their responsibility in adhering to the one-child-per-couple policy. Girls were the immediate victims of this policy, as many of their births went unregistered, or worse, were aborted”. This proves that men are chosen over women and that women are not desired in china. Another example is of Ancient china, in the article “Women in Post-Cultural Revolution China”, Dave Ursillo states that “From their very birth a female baby was susceptible to murder by her parents. It is estimated that in 1981 alone, as many as 232,000 baby girls were abandoned or murdered by their families (Honig 275)”. This shows how in ancient china they were still treated the same,
