Welding History Blacksmith’s have been around since the middle ages.Throughout the years they have developed different skills and techniques. During the 19th century, gas welding and cutting was developed. World wars have changed the history of welding, and its advancements have changed the world we live in today. Also, during World War l the military demanded armament production, this is where welding took place.The latest advancements are being made today such as the lasers and the types of welding that are being used. Early techniques of blacksmiths Blacksmith is a person who makes and repairs things in iron by hand. According to the website “History of blacksmith” Blacksmiths gained skills during the Iron Age which is the common use of Iron. During this time someone discovered this material and knew that it could be used to make utilities and weapons such as knives and arrowheads. One procedure they had to produce iron was melting it on a container made out of clay called bloomery, it could be made into any shape by hammering it to the wanted figure.
