Religion and values are very closely related. My religion determines my values in most cases. The world’s most well-known religions follow the same structure. Being kind to others is example of what they have in common. Cultural values are closely related to what people believe in. It is not uncommon for religion to be found in culture regardless of where someone is from or where they currently live. In America, it is easy to identify where Christian values and traditions collide with culture. I am Muslim and believe in one God. Where I am from all people are Muslims. It is clear to see how religion can determine cultural values for communities and society. In my religion, we are given all of the answers to life. When it comes to women, children, interacting with others, and all other situations we might find ourselves in, we have answers. This is different than other religions such as Buddhism, where there are often open-ended questions left to be interpreted. The answers that my religion has provided me with have established my values and culture. The Qu’ran has all of the answers that I might ask in my lifetime in order to help me live a better life.
