Society has evolved over time regarding the access to social media. The access to social media as a whole has open the door for juveniles to explore and has created their minds to be more advanced than they should be. Juveniles now a day, do not realize the harms and consequences that they are being exposed to when they enter the social media world. Juveniles do not realize that not everyone you encounter in social media are who they say they are. Cyberbullying, Kidnapping, and Harassment are some of the harms and consequences that juveniles are caught up in when they make social media a part of their life. Now a days juveniles believe that because they are not hurting the individual physically that means that words do not offend or hurt the individual. Juveniles have not realized that words can hurt and can cause permanent damage to an individual. Victims of cyberbullying are affected emotionally and psychologically. These victims become more reserved due to being ashamed after everything they see posted in social media websites about them. They seclude themselves from everyone around them causing them to become more anti-social. Cyberbullying does not have a gender preference. Girls and boys are both at risk of being cyberbullied or becoming the perpetrators themselves. Victims of Cyberbullying avoid informing parents or another individual because they fear of retaliation from the perpetrator. Cyberbullying can cause those who are victims to believe that there is no other way out than death itself.
