Introduction
The reign of Augustus brought a lot of changes in Rome’s political, economic and social set up. The latter was originally known by his birth name as Gaius Octavius and was born in 63 BC. After the death of his father, Gaius Octavius in 59 BC, he was enthusiastically adopted by Julius Caesar and later was to be known as Augustus. This name was given to him by the senate to indicate the transition that took place in him after his espousal. The murder of his imposter father gave him an opportunity to portray his advance skills in leadership. The murder of Julius Caesar led to a prolong civil war that resulted to a rebirth of Rome into Roman Empire.
In order to maintain the status and level of emperor, Augustus employed a hard program that would include all aspect of life in his emperor. This program aimed at achieving a long lasting peace and stability in Roman emperor. He ensured that economic, political and religious life of his people was taken care of and that they were free from manipulation of any kind. He ensured that the Roman Empire under his leadership reigned with absolute power from 27 BC to 14 AD. During his reign, political, economic and social stability of the ancient Rome was re-established. In addition to the re-establishment of ancient Rome, he launched a 200 years of prosperity among the Roman emperor citizens. Cultural diversity was enhanced during his reign and hence the emperor fully enjoyed the fruitful cohabitation among the citizens. In order to be remembered as a potent and dominant leader of his time, Augustus instructed the set up of two great pillars at Rome and be recorded in books.

... observed and put into practice. In almost all his policies, his main target was the policy of reconciliation, religious set up and economic progress. He as a leader, held no side to favor. He is considered to be the autocrat of the modern and civilized world of that time. He played a major role in restoring peace in the midst of conflicting views from different emperors who ever reined the republic of Rome for centuries of years. In addition to reconciliation role that he played as a leader, he also brought order and progressive changes among the confused Roman people. He is the only emperor to ever rule and be contented with the substance of power that appeared indifferent to its form. Augustus may be referred as an unadventurous reformer of the early centuries due to his great work of regenerating new institutions without affecting the existing ones.
