The movie describes the story of Erin Brockovich who is a struggling single mother who becomes connected to Ed Masry’s law firm because of an unfortunate car accident, and begins working at the law firm out of desperation for an income. As she spends time filing papers as a clerk, she becomes interested in the human nature of the medical cases and persuades Ed Masry to allow her to investigate further. Empathy; the movie is plenty of scenes and situations where Erin Brockovich shows her ability to put herself into the shoes of the sick families. This is one of the great assets that she posses her empathy towards their clients. She feels their pain, understands their needs, and embodies a rare compassion. “I hate lawyers; I just work for them,” she says to those who are wary of her intentions. And also Erin displayed empathy in relationships with her clients. In one scene, Erin met with a cancer suffering child and her family. A young girl named Anna, was suffering from alopecia and wearing a bandana. She had lost her hair from the cancer treatments she had received. Erin's eyes reflected painful sadness even as she smiled and laughed with Anna. At the end of their conversation, Erin's genuine concern for Anna left her speechless. Erin's attitude displayed empathy, which involves feeling and experiencing another person's situation almost as they do. Assertiveness; in the scene where Ed and Erin are with Donna and other people, and Ed is trying to convince them to move forward with a suit against PG&E. He is using an assertive speech, expressing his ideas clearly without being aggressive and defending their rights in a reasonable way, but they do not get convinced until Erin uses all her communicative skills, in particular her empat...

Erin has ability to experiment and take interpersonal risks, ability to help others to have their own ideas, ability to help other people to open themselves and ability to help us to experiment. Personal conclusion and reflection; in our opinion this movie is a master piece of communicative skills where most of communicative skills can be found, empathy, negotiation, planning, non verbal communication...etc, among them the most clearly showed are empathy and negotiation, empathy is found in every interview that Erin makes to sick people and negotiation in the different scenes where she negotiates her salary with Ed, and in the scenes where they negotiate with other firms of lawyers. To conclude this project, we think that due to this movie contains almost all the ingredients of communicative skills.
