Enforcing Harsher Animal Abuse Penalties

Should a man who sexually abused and tortured his girlfriend's kitten face only eighteen months of prison? People who commit these crimes usually face minimum time in jail and many times it does not even appear on their record. Animals are living creatures, therefore should not be harmed in not kind of way and especially not killed. Enforcing harsher penalties for animal abuse would show people that without diversities of animals, these species would become extinct, out food source would be limited in the future, and harm would continue to be done if penalties are not enacted.
Making the penalties more strict would show people that without diversities of animals these species would become extinct. “The brutality and senseless of the crime had conservation expert concerned that the most dangerous animal in the world had found yet another excuse to slaughter the creatures with whom we share the planet. “The area must be immediately secured”, said Deo Kujirakwinja of the Wildlife Conservation Society's Congo Program, “or we stand to lose an entire population of these endanger animals”,(Begley, Johnson, and Scelfo). This statement means, if humans do not stop abusing animals, like hunting them, would lead to serious problems in the future. Since today many people do not take this subject very seriously, as if it would be if it was happening to humans. “Human beings cause habitats loss by converting natural landscape to urban or agricultural landscaped and through pollution, mining, draining, and deforestation. Enforcing penalties for animal abuse would show people that without diversities of animals these species would become extinct, our food source would be limited in the future, and harm would continue to be done if penalties are not enacted. Not enforcing harsher penalties leads people to keep on committing these crimes to many animals. These crimes lead to animal extinction where at one point in the future there will be limited food source. Lack of stricter penalties would also leas to animals habitats being destroyed among with the wilderness and other out doors resources.
