Based on a series of Spanish flamenco chord progression, El Camino Real is divided into three sections. The first and last sections are inspired by the Spanish Dance Jota. This piece requires the ensemble to whisper on stage at the beginning and end of the work. Purple Whispers is divided into three sections. The first and last sections exhibit very soft dynamics. On the other hand, the middle section exhibits very loud dynamics. Furthermore, the structure of the music has three sections, section A, section B, and the return of section A, thus giving the piece a sense of unity and wholeness. Purple Whispers can be identified as utility music because it can inspire and comfort the listener. This piece can help reduce stress, cause one to relax, and also enhance mood. Moreover, Purple Whispers has a slow-fast-slow tempo. Section A can be identified as a largo tempo, because it has about 40-60 beats per minute. Section B of this piece has an vivace tempo. Additionally, Purple Whispers has both crescendo and decrescendo volume levels. Close to the end of section A, piano solo piece, one hears the addition of new instruments and increase in volume. Towards the end of section B, one hears diminuendo with the removal of instruments, lower volume, thus going back to section A, the solo piano piece. Also, Purple Whispers has a rhythm that is clear and easy to identify. Moreover, the melody of this piece can be identified to have a repeated tone with a static direction and a wide range. The harmony of this piece in section A is consonant, it provides a feeling of stability and rest, white section B contains dissonant harmonies, creates tension and instability.
