Everyday many minorities suffer from the effects of segregated and underfunded schools in our country. Segregated and underfunded schools has lead to perpetual poverty in poor communities. These schools are not giving students a viable education and is leading them to a life of fail your. If these students graduate high school they are unprepared for what comes ahead. Many students struggle in college forcing them to drop out. This leads to a never ending cycle of poverty to keep minorities in poor communities. Segregated and underfunded schools has caused a huge disparity in household income based on race and has perpetually kept minorities in poor communities. Public schools today are more segregated than ever before. Policies such as gerrymandering and redlining have caused a huge disparity in the diversity levels in schools. In 1954 the supreme court case brown v. board of education deemed that segregation in schools were unconstitutional. Yet, today public schools are still segregated based upon race. To fix discrimination in labor unions we must build and promote a more inclusive culture in our society. We must all first acknowledge that their is a problem with discrimination in this country. Once this is done we must build a better relationship between races so we understand each other's problems. Once this relationship is built hopefully discrimination will slowly diminish. Policies in our government make a large effect on underfunded schools in the inner cities. Taxes in these cities are so low that the schools are left with very little spending on important materials and resources students need to learn.
