Effective communication is fundamental in building positive relationships with children, young people and adults alike. Having good communication skills will help us develop better relationships, especially with children. When speaking with a person whether it a child or adult, you should adapt to the situation accordingly and you should be at a similar level to the person you are speaking to. For example, when speaking with a younger child, you should come down to their level, so showing the child you have equal power. Children are aware of facial expressions and how approachable you are. Some people lack in confidence and these issues may stop the, from communicating freely. Treating them in a calm and friendly manner could mean the difference
