Education Leader Position Essay

I would like to apply for the position of Early Learning Centre Educational Leader Position, recently advertised.

As a recent graduate, with a bachelor of Education, specializing in Early childhood and six years as a coordinator of a large Outside School Hours Care I believe my skills and knowledge would be an asset as the educational leader of Beedawong Early Learning centre. Good, strong leadership is extremely important when you are part of a team that aims to provide a quality early childhood program. To be able to provide this and be an effective leader, educational leaders need to display courage, have ethical values and be able to work collaboratively with others (Waniganayke, Cheesman, Fenech, Hadley & Shephard, 2012). Over the time I have been Coordinator, my role has also included me being the nominated supervisor, the educational leader and operations manager of the P&C’s other businesses. A role that became too big for one person. Myself and a team of 25 highly motivated staff have increased our license capacity from 200 to 250 students each day, and continued to ensure the service is running at a high profit level. The atmosphere I have created with my team at the service is one that is engaging for students, welcoming for families and the community and inspirational for the staff. This was achieved by being a supportive mentor to my fellow colleagues.
