Edgar Allan Poe is a great author who started a new type of writing called mystery. Poe had a very hard family life and many of his loved ones died. He went to college, but couldn’t pay for it, so he had to quit. Poe started by writing short stories and poems. He wrote many classics like: “The Raven”, “The Tell-Tale Heart”, and many others. Poe’s works have influenced many writers, and they are still enjoyed by many people today. He was born on January 19th, 1809. Poe had a rough life as a child and went through many hard circumstances.
