William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth is a tale about Macbeth, a brave nobleman in Scotland encountering three witches who give him three prophecies. The most important prophecy that the witches discloses to Macbeth is that he shall be king hereafter. To be king hereafter, Macbeth will have to take, Duncan, the king of Scotland’s crown. After Macbeth reveals the witches’ prophecies to his wife, Lady Macbeth, they decide to hasten the prophecy by murdering Duncan. Initially, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth had a strong and caring relationship, but after the murder of King Duncan, their relationship drastically change for the worse. In the beginning, Macbeth had a close relationship with Lady Macbeth and regarded her as his “dearest partner of greatness”
After the slaughter of his former comrade, Macbeth explains to his wife, “Strange things I have in head that will to hand/Which must be acted ere they may be scanned” (3.4.137-140). This assertion from Macbeth paves the path for his future misdeeds. Lady Macbeth is concerned by her husband’s announcement and responds with, “You lack the season of all natures, sleep” (3.4.141). Lady Macbeth believes that her husband has lost his sanity. She no longer supports Macbeth’s murderous plans, and resents his new impulsivity. Macbeth is a general for his king, Duncan, the ruler of Scotland. However a chance meeting with the infamous Three Weird Sisters leaves him with a chance to become the very king he lives to serve. Shakespeare has presented Macbeth in a way that makes us both admire min and despise him one at a time or sometimes both at once.

The main theme of Macbeth-the destruction wrought when ambition goes unchecked by moral constraints-finds its most powerful expression in the play's two main characters. The play begins with Macbeth being a benevolent person. Later in the play Macbeth began to kill when he was in battles and I believe this is where his inner turmoil began. King Duncan awarded Macbeth the title of Thane of Cawdor due to his loyalty and killing a high level conspirator to Scotland. The three witches who predicted Macbeth would be king gave him a lot more ambition to make this prediction come true. With this prediction hanging on his heart and the want to be more than he currently was, Macbeth realized that the completion of the prophecy may require scheme and murder on his part. The love between them is so great that, instead of Lady Macbeth talking her husband out of murder, she encourages it, revealing corruptness even in their affections for each other. In the play, the witches give Macbeth numerous prophecies that are malicious designs to provoke Macbeth towards his demise.
