DRONE IMPACT Drones are an emerging technology that has countless benefits and a myriad of intangible side-effects. I will clearly explain how drones effect on our lives by exploring the Social, Cultural, Political and Environmental impacts drone technology presents in our lives today. Social Social impacts of drones, depend greatly on their use. For the backyard enthusiast/hobbyists, they are fully supported and these individuals are continually leaning forward to get the best performance and upgrades they can, unfortunately most have cameras and are opposed by others that value privacy. There have been countless incidents where a drone has hit another person, or examples of celebrities destroying drones being used by Paparazzi. I surmise most celebrities despise drones. One great defining cultural aspect of drone technology in America, is its magnificent history. According to Newcome (2004), Radioplane Company in Hollywood, was owned by a British Actor and WWII pilot and built over 15,000 small drones for the military. A young President Ronald Reagan, when he was in the Airforce, directed an Army journalist to do a story on the Radioplane Company, where he took the first photographs of Norma Jean assembling radio-controlled airplanes. There is no significant environmental impact to the environment above or below similar commercially manufactured items. There are no additional toxic or hazardous item involved in the assembly and production of drones that is not found in other manufacturing, and the environmental waste is commensurate with similar manufacturing. Drones are used by universities, scientists, governments, ecologists, environmentalist, bureaus of land management and many other organizations to study wetlands and waterways, endangered species, herd health, erosion, track evasive species, identify blight growth, assist smoke-jumpers in forest fires, and take water and soil samples from inaccessible areas. Environmentalists have definitely maximized opportunities to use drone technology in their field of work. Drones do add a slight margin of risk as anything kinetic would. Some examples include a person or animal being struck by a drone, distraction while driving a vehicle if the driver sees it, interference with airplane flight, possible damage to cell phone towers or powerlines, etc. For the most part, drones do a lot of good work contrary to their risks, therefore hazards to the environment are
