Dogs today are being trained to be service dogs. Training a dog takes at least one to two years. Training a dog means they must be able to behave in public areas without causing any problems, the second thing a dog must be able to do, is to act appropriately with whatever disability the owner may have. Some people say that dogs can sense when their owner is about to have a seizure, but others say dogs can sense it but their instincts kick in and they have the need to protect their owner. The only animals allowed to be service animals are dogs and in some cases miniature horse.
Endal was a famous service dog. He helped his owner by saving his life one day. The owner, Allen Parton, was severely injured in a car accident resulting. Allen had to live the rest of his life in a wheelchair because of this car crash. He was very

I’ve always felt that animals are the purest spirits in the world. They don’t fake or hide their feelings, and they are the most loyal creatures on Earth and somehow we humans think we’re smarter. I chose this topic about the canine because, some of these canines risk their life’s to protect dog’s best friend.

You want your dog to understand that you are the person to look to when they question what is right or wrong. This is done by being firm, yet kind with the dog. You don't want your dog to listen to you out of fear, but out of respect. Setting boundaries is very important in gaining respect. Sit down with your family and discuss what is and what is not appropriate for the dog to be doing. Perhaps you have no problem with a dog on the furniture, but kitchen entrance is not allowed.
It can be a companion, an aide, or both. Pet dogs are loyal and make wonderful company, and an emotional support dog creates bountiful joy, but a service dog is much more. A service dog not only serves the same role as a pet, but creates a safer environment for its owner. Without the service dog it would be much harder for the owner to get around on a daily basis indecently. However service dogs and their owners are discriminated against because people are skeptical of the dog’s legitimacy, but instead the service dogs and their owners should be respected and treated as
The first of this category would be the aggressive dog. This dog is the one that tends to be forceful and damaging. The aggressive dog will tear things apart when searching for drugs. This dog takes his or her job serious. You can compare these animals to human beings when it comes to work.
Guide dogs begin training at just a puppy. The dogs are taught basic things like to sit, stay, wait, down, off, etc. and of course they are taught to be house broken. The social training for the dog is one of the most important of all they will learn. During this training dogs are introduced to sights, smells, sounds, and unusual surfaces. The trainers also keep close attention to their socializing toward dogs, people, and traffic. And this is a basic training for a guide dog.
Dogs can help children cross the street, lead the blind, alert the deaf, and they do so much more. Many of times, an adult might focus on the problem that doesn’t need requirements. An adult might focus on the problem that a child is socially disabled and by focusing on this problem, they may not even see how this child is trying to cross a busy street or might be trying to talk to someone that they shouldn’t. A service dog prevents the child from going out of sight and many of times can lead a child out of danger or avoid it in the first place.
Dogs should be trained to be around people and other pets at an early age. Training a dog to listen and obey is the most important factor (Marketwire). A dog can simply be bored and want to play aggressively. No matter the breed a dog can always be trained not to be violent (“CAUSES OF DOG”). An improperly trained dog can turn out to be mean and aggressive. Also allowing your dog to practice these behaviors will cause them to adapt to them. Exposing a dog to new things will help it become comfortable with them and recognize them. Dogs use their bark as an alarming system (Marketwire). Knowing when and why a dog is aggressive is a key factor for changing this
Animal-assisted therapy is often confused with service dog; it is two completely different type of usage of animals, which usually are dogs. It is commonly misunderstood because animal-assisted therapy and service dog are working animals with individuals with disability although according to (Hart-Cohen, 2009) service dogs is when an individual with disability is in need of help in order to function in daily life such as answering the door, crossing the street and the list goes on. While animal-assisted therapy animals are trained to offer comfort companionship, and affection to those in need in different situations such as courtrooms, nursing homes, schools, hospitals, and other places (Hart-Cohen, 2009). The point of animal-assisted therapy is to be available in specific situations to offer comfort to individuals. In order to become an assisted animal, the animal must undergo training, to receive a certified to prove that the animal is qualified to be able to control his or her behavior and is able to work with an...
According to the American Kennel Club, being responsible for any pet is committing to them as much as you would if they were human (AKC). Through the months Skye has had a total of twenty-four weeks in obedience and training classes and became part of the American Kennel Club. During her classes they taught me as her owner that her mayhem is not her fault, and I have to teach her how to act correctly. On top of all my responsibilities for a hyper aggressive dog, I have to make sure that while I am at work, someone is capable of also taking care of her needs. I found a lodging and training daycare that works with Skye on days I drop her off, and my dad is a huge help. Not many people are able to handle my dog, so it is important that I found people that also can help her. Responsibilities for dogs come in all different forms, but these are just a couple ways that I have to specifically take care of my
Dogs are magnificent creatures, and when raised correctly, are adorable, loyal, loving animals. However it takes a lot of time, energy, and commitment to make sure that dogs are raised correctly. These animals have a lot of the same requirements that a human child needs. They also act as a child would. A new dog owner would do well to consider these points before they take on the responsibility of raising one of these incredible creatures.

It was with the hope of increased self-reliance that I applied for a service dog from Canine Companions for Independence. Obeying about 70 commands, CCI service dogs retrieve dropped items, open doors, turn lights on and off, pull wheelchairs, and more.
