To have a dog park in the city would benefit dogs and their owners. I do not believe that everyone would benefit. Certainly not cat people.
According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(ASPCA), dogs that don't get enough exercise can act out by barking and destroying things at home. I agree that dogs need exercise for their mental and physical health. However, a dog park can be quite noisy. This problem has been reported by residents living near dog parks in Reston, Virginia, and Chandler, Arizona, among other places.
I like the idea of having a dog park where owners can take their dogs to socialize and exercise. Studies have shown, it is very important that the dogs learn to get along with other dogs
The emerald jewel of Brooklyn, Prospect Park is often called the borough’s backyard and has been a serene and idyllic retreat for Brooklynites for well over a century now. In fact, the park recently celebrated its 150th anniversary with great fanfare, attesting its historic importance and role it’s played in city life for generations. Few people, however, know the true history of the park, such as its connection to Central Park and the role it played in the development of Brooklyn real estate in the late 19th century. To that end, here’s a quick look at the hidden history of Prospect Park and the key role it’s played in the city’s history over the years.
parks system is a great way to get away. If we continue to allow our parks to
Yosemite National Park, is a beautiful piece of nature it is a 195 mile nature getaway from the urban life that is lived San Francisco, CA and 315 miles away from the fast pace and overwhelming life that is lived in Los Angeles CA. This place is like no other in the beauty of its nature. The park is “747,956 acres, and is the home to hundreds of wildlife species and thousands of Yosemite plants” (U.S. Nat. Park Service). Yosemite is known for so many beautiful features, from its granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, giant sequoia groves and biological diversity. And also for its two rivers which are the Tuolumne and Merced rivers. These rivers begin in the park and flow as far as west to the Central Valley.
I believe that having a dog park at the Harrah Heritage Park will help the community grow because the closest dog park right now for towns around Harrah such as Jones, Choctaw, Mcloud, and Luther is in Midwest City. Midwest city is at least 15 miles away from Harrah. If we had a park in Harrah maybe people from other towns would move to Harrah because
If there was a dog park, property values would most definitely go up. The community should try to make every resident happy where they live. Some cat owners don't feel dog owners should be able to get a dog park since they themselves are not asking for a place to bring their cats. Cats are more of indoor animals and they don't need as much attention and exercise as dogs. Cats don't need wide open spaces to play around in. People feel as though they are being treated unfairly due to the lack of yard space and areas for their pets to roam around
A dog friendly community would be great for an area like that. Think about it, like it says in the artical, it would raise property value. Also it helps dog owners decide on a place to live a lot easier because of the community. It may be a strain for tax payers but if so then why not just make the community pay for the dog park? They live their, so in turn the should pay for the space that they allow there dogs to play at.
In the park written by Gwen Harwood, was originally written under a male pseudonym. The poem represents the idea of changing identity because of certain circumstances as well as challenging common ideas, paradigms and values & beliefs which is commonly held amongst mothers in today’s society.
Before the revenue brought into the state from these national parks made most of the money for the state as a whole, but considering the visiting rates for all of these parks have significantly lowered, their is no benefit to keeping them anymore. Allowing companies to work on the parks would bring more jobs to the state, and in so bring more money, other than the parks just costing money due to maintenance. An article called “Americans Think National Parks Are Worth Way More than We Spend on Them” by Linda J. Bilems and John Loomis, has priced the national parks in the US at about ninety two billion dollars. Shown here “ Our results showed that Americans put a total value of $92 billion per year on our national parks, monuments, seashores and recreation areas.” (Bilmes and Loomis).
Not just dogs would benefit from a dog park, everyone would. Studies have shown that dog parks raise property values in communities, and attract dog and animal owners when they are chosing a place to live.
This can be extrapolated to a community service as a recreational activity, where people have to interact and that way the life of a city becomes more outgoing. A dog park can be a good experience for dogs because they can feel the relaxing place where they do not have to use a leash, so they are free to move wherever they feel like inside the park. This situation can be helpful to the people, since they are free of worries of their dogs because a big, closed pet-friendly place would give them the confidence that there are no hazards, like vehicles, or any damage to the dog. Also, a dog park in the city would help to create friendship and an identity of community since dog owners do not have to go to other cities to enjoy these kind of parks. Instead, they can be part of an identity and recognize themselves in their own city.
On September 9th, 2017 at approximately 7 p.m., I went to Gracedale Public Park to carefully conduct my observation on the individuals, who were at the park and their specific activities in the one hour of time. When I got there, the weather was beautiful with soft winds, a clear sky and with some dim sunlight. The park was full of people of all ages. Though, there were more kids than adults and some teenagers. There were many bicycles and strollers parked beside the tree I sat under. After a couple of minutes, the park filled up with more and more individuals and everyone seemed busy doing their own actions.
From our loving pets that welcome us home every day, to the birds chirping in the morning, to the exotic animals we admire; animal safety and animal rights is a priority that gathers attention across the world. Being up close and personal with animals is a coveted experience that zoos try to bring to everyday life. While it is breathtaking to see these glorious animals it can possibly bring danger to their lives and call into question someone’s morals. The Denver Zoo claims that they rescue endangered or suffering animals from hostile environments and bring them into a safe, nurturing facility where they cater to the animals’ needs. With the demands of the people it is truly amazing that the Denver Zoo can properly care
Parks are a place where plants and animals can live without much interaction with humans. Therefore, this makes them a prime spot for scientific research. Parks are a great spot to observe organisms in their natural habitats and study how they behave. There is a lot that scientists can learn from these observations. Also, the monuments and landscapes are places where researchers can learn about the history and past events of the US. Without these preserved areas, this material would not be available for researchers to
A cigarette butt lies next to my foot, still emitting a trace of smoke. Nearby on the dusty asphalt a pigeon waddles self-consciously, bobbing its head as if pecking the air for some invisible food. A squirrel churrs a threat to his brother, challenging him to romp.
