Dog Park Debate.
Should public dog parks be built in cities? There are many different opinions and views on the question and not everyone agrees, but I think public dog parks would be a good idea.
If you own a dog you would know that they have alot of energy. They love to play. Exercise is not only a playful activity for dogs but its very important to a dogs mental and physical health. According to the ASPCA, "Dogs that dont get exercise can act out by barking and destroying things at home." There is also a big sociallization asspect to this too. At a dog park a young pup can meet other dogs and learn to interact and play with others, but if a dog dosen't recieve the socialization when they meet another animal or person …show more content…

Not just dogs would benefit from a dog park, everyone would. Studies have shown that dog parks raise property values in communities, and attract dog and animal owners when they are chosing a place to live.
To every pro there is also a con, so there are some down sides to having a public off-leash dog park.
Most cities rely on people respectcing the rules even though not all the rules are follwed, so if a dog attacks another dog or person in the park, the victim could rightfully sue the dogs owner and the city for not enforcing the rules/law of the public dog park. Traffic congestion will also increase near the park, and noise from the barking dogs and yelling owners can disturb nearby residents. This is also a very expensive prjoect just the fence alone would cost around 70,000 dollars!
All these cons could be solved and worked around. There could be a fee placed if you do not follow the laws of the dog park. You could also have the dog park in a location that is not near too many residential homes. The community could have fund raisers to earn the money required to build the dog park instead of taking the money from
