Handwriting is a means of expressing language, just like speech. However, handwriting is not taught in school as much as in previous years. In the past, handwriting was taught as a precursor to reading and spelling. Today, students of all ages are rigorously tested on their writing skills, yet they are not allowed the time it takes to develop this skill. I remember writing in a Big Chief notebook, holding a chubby pencil, trying my best to make the curves and lines of the letters just right. When I attended elementary school, the teacher devoted at least forty-five minutes to handwriting each day. Handwriting should still be taught in school because it is an essential first step to reading and expressing one’s thoughts and feelings and because of its impact on higher education.

Usually kids learn how to right all of the letters then the hardest part is putting then into sentences and being able to understand it.

She has lovely handwriting and comprehends certain things better than most her age so she is a more of a sagacious student. The girl had a hint of Dyslexia when she was taught cursive and now it is basically nonexistent.
I believe learning to write cursive in early levels of public education seems like it would be a waste of time and resources. As stated in the article, 'Cursive Is a Twenty-First Century Dinosaur', cursive is rapidly becoming obsolete due to the increased potency of technology in todays world. With technology swiftly becoming the more accessible way for everyone to communicate, I believe even standard print writing will soon see its demise. I'd be amazed to see cursive survive in a world where handwriting is deminishing.
I personally do not enjoy writing like most people would feel about reading a dictionary. I am cautiously treading water with every word I type. I have always found writing to be a tedious process. I have never found ease in wording something the way I want to; therefore, it usually sounds so much better in my head. I’ve never considered myself to be comfortable with writing in general. For example, I always had a hard time telling if I needed a comma in a sentence or not. Sometimes it was obvious, but it seems more confusing most of the time.

It requires a starting point or introduction, followed by a thesis on the preferred topic, then comes proving and disproving of the evidence based arguments. It is important because it is a way to communicate our thoughts clearly and originality. It helps us think and see what evidence we can come up to contribute to that thinking.
