Boundaries are necessary to keep individuals in order. For that very reason communities believe curfew laws will have a positive effect on teenagers. If these laws are implemented effectively not only throughout communities but in households as well great changes will be made. Curfew laws are needed to help reducing the risk of sleep deprivation among adolescents, to protecting innocent youth from harm, and to lowering juvenile crime rates. If everyone works together to make sure curfew laws are being followed then parents will not have to worry as much. To begin, most teenagers believe curfews are in place just to have control over the youth. But that is not the case; curfews are enforced for the well being of all juveniles. An abundant of youth were becoming victimized by crimes happening after midnight. In some cases juveniles would fall victims to cross fires (Favro). That is why officials stress the importance of obeying the curfew rules. Even though gangs are around at all times of the day, night time is the most dangerous time. Majority of the time children are being protected from themselves. Because most minors lack the maturity to think responsible when they are not around adults. No parent wants their child to ruin their life over a careless mistake. Fortunately curfews reduces the chances of thoughtless mistakes being made by minors. Many minors are subjected to undergo peer pressure when they are out pass curfew. For example children who are taught not to drink nor smoke will constantly be asked until they either give in or walk away. And majority of the time the only way for he or she to get home is from the person who is giving the peer pressure. A lot of things happen after dark that usually would not happen during the day.
