About 90 years after his creation of the famous Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney’s legacy continues to entertain children and adults alike around the world. Disney was listed as one of the strongest, most powerful brand in the world in 2017("Disney- Statistics"). From high school drop-out to world-known animator, Walter Disney overcame many obstacles to earn his success as a cartoonist, entrepreneur, and producer.
Disney experienced a strong love for art, nature, and community as a child, but his childhood was cut short when he dropped out of high school in attempt to join the military. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5, 1901 ("Walt Disney"). From then his family moved to Missouri where Disney pursued an art career with a supportive family who encouraged him to always follow his dreams. Walt attempted to enlist in the military at sixteen but was turned down for his young age. From then he went with Plan B which was to join the Red Cross in France where he spent time driving ambulances and chauffeuring ("Walt Disney A Short"). When he returned from his time in France, he focused more on his art and career in cartoons.
Disney did not reach his incomparable success without some failures along the way. His first original animated characters were created in 1920. In May of 1922, he started his
Walt developed lung cancer in 1966 and passed away on December 15, 1966 ("Walt Disney Biography"). The family of Disney scattered his ashes at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park located in Glendale, California ("DISNEY'S 'FROZEN'"). Rumors have been said that Walt Disney's body is being frozen until the cure for cancer is found but his family has denied this statement. ("DISNEY'S 'FROZEN'"). His plans of building a theme park located in Florida were made a success by his brother and partner Roy. This theme park was named Walt Disney World and opened in 1971 ("Walt Disney
