This study aims to explore the concept of prostitution as a sex crime in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on legalising prostitution and its acceptability within the society of Britain. The research additionally analysis many aspects of prostitution and endeavours to gauge its advantages and disadvantages. Conclusively the research expects to find arguments for and against reasons to legalise prostitution or not.

Prostitution; commonly called ‘The world’s oldest profession’ morally deprecated in virtually all societies. Prostitution has taken on many definitions as it relates to sex for hire. Some define it explicitly within social or legal terms and parameters; others define prostitution as “at most only a marginal type of vice.” Historically, the vast majority of definitions of prostitution have been sex-categorical or fixated on adult female prostitution. Today these definitions have expanded to include adolescent female prostitution, boy prostitution, adult male prostitution, homo-sexual prostitution, bisexual prostitution and even prostitution by phone and online services.
Sociological definitions
Definitions of prostitution are generally divided into two types: social definitions and legal definitions. Sociologists have regularly defined prostitution as sexual relations characterized by payment, barter, promiscuity and emotional indifference.

Brothels (massage parlours) a place that more than one person works are illegal, even if they work different times or days. It is also illegal to benefit from controlling or coercing others into the sex industry, including massage parlour managers receptionists and pimps.
