The implementation of the Double Demerits-Think Twice campaign aims to encourage safe driving on the roads during holiday periods and long weekends. It provides an incentive for drivers and riders to improve their driving behaviour and comply with traffic rules, since consequences are double the severity when there are more people travelling on the roads. It informed awareness to drivers that they will lose more demerit points when driving irresponsibly, leading to the loss of a driver's license. Unrealistic- The presence of a humorous approach may mislead young male adults thinking that drink driving is not an issue that must be taken seriously. Doesn't show consequences- In the advertisement, the lack of consequences shown that may result from drink driving including death doesn't provoke the reality to trigger a person's behaviour.

This approach promotes awareness under the principle on designing road infrastructure to minimise crashes or reduce force from a crash. By building safer roads and setting safer speed limits, it is nothing in terms of encouraging people on the roads to make safe decisions.
