Defining Digital Communication: In today’s world communication includes a vast array of media sources: audio, video, rich media presentations, interactive websites, DVDs, simulations and virtual environments. Digital communication is one form of communication that I am reviewing and it is defined as electronic transmission of information that has been encoded digitally for storage and processing by computers according to the Free Dictionary by Farlex. In schools the age of effective communication is becoming more widespread. School have decided to take a hand in assisting this growing need by incorporating into their curriculum digital communication skills through specialized courses or component parts of existing coursework from elementary through high school. This may be displayed in a variety of formats, e-portfolios, virtual games, multimedia presentations or interactive websites through coding. As a teacher I have found that the use of visual aids stimulates the student’s imagination and fosters their creative process. As the students become adept at the use of digital communication then they will become the next generation of communication guru. They are a step above the norm and are thus considered effective communicators and are prepared for the future and what’s in store. With feedback from community organizations and companies, school are becoming better equipped with providing the skills needed to meet the requirements of a growing new age
